Privacy Policy

How ClassGamify collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information

2026/07/02

Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how ClassGamify ("ClassGamify", "we", "us", or "our") handles personal information when you use our classroom activity platform, including activity authoring, game-style templates, assignment links, student runners, worksheets, AI-assisted tools, accounts, support, file uploads, and paid features if they are enabled.

This policy is intended to describe the product as it operates today and as paid classroom features are introduced. If a checkout page, payment processor, or merchant of record provides additional privacy terms, those terms apply to the payment transaction in addition to this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect only the information needed to provide, secure, support, and improve ClassGamify.

  • Account and authentication information: If you create an account, we may collect your name, email address, password authentication data, email verification status, session records, linked OAuth provider information such as Google sign-in identifiers, account role, ban status, and related security records.
  • Classroom activity content: We may process activity titles, descriptions, teacher instructions, learning goals, vocabulary, questions, answer keys, accepted alternatives, answer explanations, matching pairs, groups, listening scripts, worksheet settings, selected templates, assignment settings, assignment snapshots, and public share identifiers.
  • Student participation data: When a student uses an assignment link, we may process the student name if the teacher chooses to collect it, an anonymous browser token for attempt limits, submitted answers, score, accuracy, completion time, attempt duration, review state, and technical data needed to show the student result, teacher results, and result exports.
  • Files and profile content: If account file, avatar, audio, image, or worksheet upload features are available and you upload files, we process the file name, type, size, storage key, upload time, and the file itself.
  • AI prompts, uploads, and generated results: If you use AI-assisted drafting, remixing, distractor generation, answer explanations, listening scripts, worksheet extraction, source-material provenance, or similar classroom authoring tools, we may process the text you enter, uploaded classroom images or files, and generated output through the configured provider. Depending on the feature, those inputs and outputs may also be logged for abuse prevention, debugging, or rate limiting. For source-material draft notes, the product is designed to use safe material provenance such as material kind and filename basename before any dedicated extraction pipeline is enabled.
  • Contact and support information: If you email us, submit a contact form, or use a support channel, we receive the contact details and message content you choose to provide.
  • Payment and billing information: If paid plans are enabled, payment processors such as Creem or Stripe may collect payment details, billing address, tax information, transaction identifiers, subscription status, invoices, and fraud-prevention information. ClassGamify does not store full card numbers on its own servers.
  • Usage, analytics, and device data: We may process page views, referrers, browser and device type, approximate region, IP address, request logs, error logs, product interactions, performance data, and similar technical data. Analytics tools may include services such as Cloudflare analytics, Umami, Microsoft Clarity, Google Analytics, or Plausible, depending on configuration.
  • Cookies and local storage: We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies for authentication, language preference, theme preference, sidebar state, assignment tokens, local runner state, security, analytics, and product reliability.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • provide classroom activity creation, templates, assignments, student runners, worksheets, accounts, paid access, support, and related product features
  • authenticate users, keep sessions secure, verify email addresses, and prevent account abuse
  • publish assignment links, enforce assignment settings, score attempts, show student feedback where enabled, and provide teacher result summaries and CSV exports
  • generate, remix, or improve activity drafts requested by the user
  • process purchases, renewals, cancellations, refunds, invoices, and payment support when paid features are enabled
  • respond to support, feedback, partnership, and legal requests
  • understand product usage, diagnose errors, measure conversion, and improve the classroom experience
  • protect ClassGamify, users, students, and third parties from fraud, spam, security incidents, and misuse
  • comply with legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

Sharing and Third-Party Services

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in U.S. state privacy laws.

We may share information with service providers that help us operate ClassGamify, including:

  • Cloudflare for hosting, Workers, D1 database, R2 storage, DNS, security, logs, email sending, and analytics
  • Better Auth and OAuth providers for account authentication, including Google sign-in if enabled
  • Configured classroom AI providers, such as Cloudflare Workers AI for AI-assisted drafting, text generation, template remixing, distractor generation, listening scripts, worksheet extraction, source-material provenance, or related teacher-reviewed features when those tools are enabled
  • Analytics providers such as Microsoft Clarity, Umami, Google Analytics, or Plausible, when configured
  • Payment providers such as Creem or Stripe, when paid checkout is enabled
  • Email and support providers for transactional email, verification email, password reset email, and support communication
  • Storage providers such as Cloudflare R2 for uploaded files, if file features are enabled
  • Professional advisers or authorities where necessary for legal, security, tax, compliance, or dispute purposes

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We try to use providers that are appropriate for a small online education product and that support reasonable security practices.

Classroom and Student Data

Teachers, tutors, schools, and organizations decide what classroom content they enter, which assignment settings they enable, whether student names are collected, and which students receive public assignment links. If you use ClassGamify with students, you are responsible for obtaining any permissions required by your organization, school, family, or applicable law.

Do not ask students to submit sensitive personal information through assignment answers, student name fields, comments, or uploads. Student results are intended for classroom review, reteaching, feedback, and ordinary instructional records.

Public student assignment payloads are intended to show the runtime prompts, choices, rules, and review feedback needed for the assignment. Teacher-only answer keys, file lists, source-material storage identifiers, and private result exports are handled in teacher-facing workflows rather than in the public runner before they are authorized or relevant.

Cookies, Local Storage, and Analytics

Some storage is essential for the service to work, such as authentication cookies, language preference, theme preference, assignment attempt tokens, and security-related data. Local runner state may be stored in your browser so an assignment attempt can continue on the same device where appropriate.

You can clear cookies or local storage in your browser settings. Clearing them may sign you out, reset preferences, remove local runner state, or affect anonymous assignment attempt limits.

Analytics tools help us understand whether teachers and students can find, use, and complete the product flows. Depending on the provider, analytics may collect page URLs, browser details, device details, interaction events, approximate location, and technical identifiers. We use this data to improve reliability, usability, and service experience, not to sell personal information.

Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy:

  • account records are kept while your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for security, backup, legal, or audit needs
  • activity, assignment, attempt, and result records are kept while the teacher account or classroom workflow needs them, unless deleted through available product controls or support processes
  • payment and invoice records may be retained for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations
  • support messages are retained for as long as needed to respond and maintain reasonable business records
  • security logs and technical logs are kept for limited periods unless needed to investigate abuse or incidents
  • browser-local storage stays on your device until you clear it or the browser removes it

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to certain processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can:

  • update or delete account information through account settings where available
  • delete your account where the product provides account deletion
  • edit or delete classroom content where product controls are available
  • clear local browser storage to remove local assignment or preference data
  • contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of account data
  • opt out of non-essential analytics through browser settings, privacy tools, or provider-level controls where available

We may need to verify your request before acting on it. We may keep certain information where required for security, legal, tax, accounting, dispute, or fraud-prevention reasons.

Children's Privacy

ClassGamify is designed for teachers, tutors, schools, and authorized classroom use. It is not directed to unsupervised use by children under 13. Children and students should use ClassGamify with a parent, guardian, teacher, tutor, school, or administrator where required by local law.

If you are under 13, do not create an account or provide personal information unless a parent, guardian, school, or other authorized adult has approved your use where legally required. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without required consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Parents, guardians, and schools can contact us at the email below.

International Processing

ClassGamify is available online and may use service providers in different countries. Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms, provider commitments, and security safeguards for international processing.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect personal information, including authentication controls, access controls, provider security features, and HTTPS. No online service can guarantee perfect security. Please use a strong password and contact us if you believe your account or data has been affected.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as ClassGamify adds templates, classroom tools, AI features, accounts, payments, analytics, or other services. The updated version will be posted on this page with an updated date. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to provide additional notice where appropriate.
